The recognition and treatment of pain has always been a vital aspect of small animal practice. Over the last 10 years, management of small animal pain has progressed rapidly. Veterinary surgeons and nurses are now faced with a larger variety of cases of increasing complexity and a greater range of drugs for the management of pain.
