Abstract
In emergency situations it should be paramount to alleviate pain by the most reliable and safe method. This chapter discussesuse and benefits of full mu agonist opioids, when to start an additional analgesic and what drugs to avoid. Case examples: Gastric dilatation-volvulus; Caesarean section; Septic abdomen; Road traffic accident.
