This lecture reviews the principles of antibiotic stewardship, the PROTECT ME initiative and how BSAVA and SAMSOC have worked together to approached this important issue. Antibiotic resistance is now recognised as a true One Health issue that requires constant engagement from all medical professions. This lecture covers the principles of the PROTECT ME scheme and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
