Urethral obstruction is a common presentation in small animal practice. This lecture provides an overview of stabilisation and treatment of this condition, with an emphasis on how to avoid surgery if possible. The most common management technique of retrohydropulsion followed by cystotomy are discussed, along with some commonly used temporary or permanent urine diversion techniques.
