Heat-related illness (heatstroke) is an uncommon, but potentially life-threatening condition predominantly affecting our canine patients in hot and humid weather. Reviewing the latest evidence on heat-related illness presentation, clinical grading and emergency triage (including the sometimes controversial topic of first-aid cooling advice.), this session aims to empower the whole veterinary team with tools to better recognise and support dogs with heat-related illness right from the first point of contact.
