There is an honourable tradition within the veterinary profession in which grassroots practitioners help nurture the skills of the next generation of clinicians. But the quality of teaching on offer in different practices is highly variable. Association of Veterinary Students president David Charles told John Bonner how the association is working to ensure that a consistently high-class learning experience is available to all its members.
