Chronic kidney disease is common in ageing dogs and cats but early diagnosis is difficult using blood tests. PetSavers is funding research into using urine cystatin C as a marker of CKD in dogs and to evaluate the use of urinary albumin and cystatin C to detect CKD in cats.
