She achieved her NCert in Emergency and Critical Care in 2018 and her interests include surgical and anaesthesia nursing. This was Rebecca’s first experience of a thoracotomy and this report looks to describe key steps in preparation and management from a nurse’s perspective that can contribute to a positive outcome for all involved.
