Abstract

The prestigious BSAVA Bourgelat award (2018) for outstanding international contributions to the field of small animal practice will be awarded at this year’s Congress to Clarence Rawlings, one of the pioneers of keyhole surgery. Clarence is emeritus professor of surgery at the University of Georgia veterinary school and here he discusses the benefits the introduction of minimal invasive surgery can offer first-opinion practices.
