Avian influenza in backyard poultry
The UK is at increased risk of avian influenza (AI) over the winter months, owing both to the flight paths of migratory birds and the ability of the virus to survive in the environment in low temperatures. The BSAVA has put together some advice to help backyard poultry owners protect their birds from AI. This short collection draws together some of our existing content relating to both AI and backyard poultry keeping to provide further guidance on the topic. In view of the current situation in the UK, this collection is freely available until the end of March 2023.

End of life - introduction
Euthanasia is a very common procedure, but one which brings with it a unique set of challenges for clients and veterinary professionals alike. Setting aside the procedural aspect for the moment, the collection focuses on this important topic from a pastoral point of view, which is less frequently considered. This introductory collection draws together a selection of general materials. Links to more in-depth collections focusing on client communication, client support and practice support are available via this introductory collection. Access to these additional resources is complimentary upon purchase of the introductory collection. Updated November 2022 to include a chapter from BSAVA Manual of Practical Veterinary Welfare.
