Registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) and student veterinary nurses (SVNs) play a key role in small animal anaesthesia. With appropriate training, VNs have the ability to plan ahead and anticipate equipment requirements and techniques indicated in certain cases. Effective training, increased awareness and patient assessment will minimize complications.
