Across the pond this month, the 17th Annual World Turtle Day (23 May) will be an opportunity for people to celebrate and learn about turtles and tortoises and the challenges they face as a consequence of their disappearing habitats around the world. Terry Norton, Director of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center based on Jekyll Island in the USA, talks us through the valuable rehabilitation, education and research activities taking place at the center.

The BSAVA is taking practical steps to stem the haemorrhage of talent from within the profession by addressing one of the issues causing many younger members to look for a career outside veterinary medicine.
