RSS feeds

RSS (Rich Site Summary, or Really Simple Syndication) is a standardised system for the distributions of content from an online publisher (such as the BSAVA) to the online user.

These ‘feeds’ allow the user to subscribe to the content they want to know about, and as soon as new content is published online, the user is alerted to this new content being available. The mechanism for this alert to happen is by using a Feed Reader (or RSS Reader as they are known). Examples of these readers include Inoreader or NewsBlur.
