Abstract
Abdominal bloating refers to a condition in which the abdomen feels swollen and is uncomfortable because of distension of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Despite its low apparent prevalence in small animals, bloating can orientate the clinician toward a more chronic digestive or respiratory disorder, and is likely to be underdiagnosed in small animals.
