The aim is to highlight best practice and how this can be achieved in a busy first opinion practice in a cost effective manner. Emma Boyce explores the patient’s journey from prep room to recovery, looking at theatre preparation, patient preparation and the role of the theatre nurse. Instrumentation, preparation and maintenance is also addressed, together with infection control in the theatre complex and how to maintain effective and economical best practice.
