Abstract
All veterinary practices should consider themselves to be businesses. In simple terms, a practice offers a product or a service to meet a customer need. The aim of this chapter is to give all veterinary practices, no matter what size, a workable guide to strategic and business planning. Strategy and planning should not be viewed as theoretical enigmas, but as essential tools for survival and growth.
